Quizzes

What are they?
Quizzes are another activity you are likely to find in your online courses. They are frequently set to be available on specific days and during specific hours. Instructors also regularly set time limits which determine how long you can spend before you have to finish and submit a particular test. Depending on the situation, you may have more than one attempt. In terms of grades and feedback, Instructors have a variety of options regarding what they make available to you and when.

The Quiz tool in Canvas is currently being redesigned by the vendor.That means there are two different versions of Canvas quizzes you may encounter in your courses: Classic Quizzes and New Quizzes. Note: your instructor may not choose to use a Quizzes link in the course menu. Exams and Quizzes might be linked in a module, and will probably appear in your To Do list, so look around. If you have questions, be sure to ask your instructor.

PRO TIP: Quizzes are another activity that you do not want to leave until the last minute to complete. It is very important to check your calendar and course schedule to anticipate when tests might be coming up so that you can be sure to set aside enough time to complete them. It is also very important to read through all of the instructions provided, so that you know if it is timed, if it automatically submits, if any additional items are needed for successful completion, if you are able to retake it, etc.
