Introduction to Canvas & Related Online Tools

  For some of you, this may be your first exposure to online learning. There are many different types of required technologies, and types of assignments that may include video, written responses, uploading of documents, etc. We want you to know that we do not expect you to be an expert on everything from the get-go!

Our PURPOSE is to introduce you to basic strategies, tools, campus resources and technology related to online learning, to help you feel more comfortable and prepared to begin your UNM courses. This orientation will cover aspects of how to successfully navigate the Learning Management System (LMS) where your online courses will be housed. It is called UNM Canvas, and is a product of the company Instructure.

Please try your best to familiarize yourself with these materials as a way to prepare for online courses, and feel free to continue to refer back if you need a refresher later on!
