Norton Grade Synchronization
Norton Grade Synchronization
When a Norton digital product is integrated with Canvas, student grades flow automatically into your gradebook after an evaluation-enabled activity is completed. Norton refers to this as **grade passback** or **automatic grade reporting**. The way it works depends on the specific Norton product.
Product Home Page Integration
If you integrate a link to a **Norton digital learning tool product home page** (which includes links to all activities for a Norton digital product), the **overall average** for all assigned activities will be transferred to your Canvas gradebook. For example, if a student completes 10 InQuizitive activities, only **one grade (the average of the 10 activities)** will be passed back to Canvas.
Note: Every LTI-enabled link corresponds to **one** gradebook column.
Individual Activity Link Integration
If you integrate **individual activity links**, each **activity's grade** will be transferred into its own separate column in the Canvas gradebook.
Note: Grade values sent to Canvas are percentages (0-100). Canvas scales this based on the point value you assign in Canvas. For example, if you set an activity as **10 points** in Canvas, and a student earns **89%**, their Canvas gradebook will reflect **8.9 points**.
